Hushify came out of a complaint we heard on job sites for years. A room can look incredible and still sound awful. We spent a decade watching it happen, so we built the fix.

Arvind and Tim, and about a decade of noise

We are Arvind Singh and Tim Ravenna. Between us we have more than ten years in construction, manufacturing and looking after customers. Tim came up through building and finishing, the trades that hand a room over to the people who live in it. Arvind works the other end, finding products that are genuinely worth selling, getting them into the right hands, and staying on the line until the customer is happy with what they bought.

We have both stood in a lot of freshly finished rooms. Big windows, hard floors, clean plaster, and not one soft surface anywhere. They photograph beautifully and they ring like a stairwell. Every word bounces, music turns sharp, and a work call sounds like it is coming from the bottom of a well. Clients kept asking us the same thing. The room is done, so why does it sound like this?

The usual fixes were both bad

You had two options and neither was good. Staple grey foam to the wall and wreck the look you just paid for, or hire a carpenter to build slat panelling by hand and watch the bill climb past what most people wanted to spend. Nobody was making the obvious thing in between. A panel that genuinely absorbs sound and looks like it was always meant to be there.

So we made it. We put most of our time into the part nobody sees, which is the felt behind the wood. The slats are what you fall for, but the recycled felt backing is what does the acoustic work, and cutting corners there is why so many panels look right and do nothing. We paired real wood veneer with a dense felt core, kept every panel the same size so a wall lines up cleanly, and set the price so a homeowner could finish a feature wall without a trade or a loan.

We tell you what these panels will not do

We put the NRC rating, 0.5 mounted to drywall, on every product page, right next to a plain reminder that these panels cut the echo inside a room and will not soundproof it against the neighbours. We would rather lose a sale than take a return from someone who bought the wrong thing. A customer who knows exactly what they are getting tends to keep it.
